"That which we learn to do, we learn by doing." Aristotle
Cognitive learning | Affective learning | Psychomotor learning | | demonstrated by knowledge recall and the intellectual skills such as comprehension, analysis, and problem solving | demonstrated by behaviors related to emotions, attitudes, appreciations, and values | demonstrated by physical skills, such as coordination, dexterity, manipulation |
Few interactive learning courseware developers are making serious attempts to integrate the assessment of real practical skills with cognitive development programs and certifying technical competence. Most assessments in the US automotive industry (including even the ASE exams) only test cognitive outcomes through written tests. CDX has recognized it is impossible to certify technical competence unless the practical skills can be proven. The CDX system makes it easy to manage the combination of cognitive and psychomotor skills. CDX Auto teaches psychomotor tasks and builds workshop practice and assessment of practical skills into its learning programs.
Here is the relationship between KNOW-SEE-DO-PROVE activities and Learning Domains.
